April is flying by and London marathon fever is in full swing! The best of luck to everyone on the start line, whether you’re flying the flag for Ranelagh or running for your own reason. And well done to everyone who finished at Paris, Manchester, Boston and other races….

Steeped in club history, the Baker Cup dates back to 1911, following its presentation in 1910 by Fred W Baker - later Club President and one of Ranelagh’s longest-serving members….

April is here - and it’s a busy one. First up is the Baker Cup Handicap on 18 April, free for all members but please sign up by 15 April. Meanwhile, the Surrey Road League continues; including our own races - the Ranelagh Half and Ranelagh 10K - coming up fast. Followed by the Sunset Sprint 3k not long after.

Don’t miss our annual 5k road race! First competed for in 1911, the Baker Cup is our road handicap; a mere 5 km (3 miles) around the Ballet School, making it immensely…

Over the next few months, we host our three biggest events — the Ranelagh Half (10 May), Ranelagh 10K (21 June) and the brand new Sunset Sprint 3K (3 July) — and we need your help to make them happen.

Aimed at complete beginners, our ladies-only Couch-to-5k course is perfect for those wishing to learn how to confidently run 5 km at their own pace...

Mob matches are rarely straightforward affairs. They involve travel, mud, hills, rivalries stretching back decades, slightly illogical scoring systems, and the quiet understanding that victory depends not just on who runs fastest — but on who turns up in the greatest numbers….

The call out for our mob builds to a crescendo with two away fixtures in rapid succession — SLH on 7 March, followed by the final showdown against Orion on 14 March…

The Clutton rather belies its status as one of the oldest trophies in the Ranelagh Harriers cabinet. In appearance it is modest — diminutive even — especially when set alongside some of the grander silverware that our club holds….
