CROSS-COUNTRY AND ROAD RUNNING CLUB IN RICHMOND, SURREY

Welcome

Formed in 1881, we are one of the oldest running clubs in the UK, with a rich heritage and history of running in the Richmond, Surrey area. Our primary focus is in encouraging and helping you to achieve your running goals.

We’re a sociable, friendly and inclusive club. Whether you’re a new runner aiming for your first parkrun, or a more experienced athlete targeting a marathon PB, we’re here to support you and provide whatever help you may need.

As a club, we meet to train twice-weekly, and throughout the year, we actively participate in regional and national meets, compete in historic race fixtures with other clubs, as well as organise a 10K and half-marathon event, and member-exclusive events.

WHERE WE RUN

From our origins in Putney in 1881, we have been privileged to run in and around the Richmond area, including in Richmond Park and other neighbouring green spaces, since the mid-1930s.

Here, we enjoy direct access to a wide variety of beautiful terrain, including undulating trails, riverside towpaths and quieter roads.

On Thursdays, we have use of Osterley Park track facility offering structured track training opportunities to suit all abilities.

TRAINING

We have a great team of coaches and run leaders, who provide free training sessions for members on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our sessions support a range of levels and abilities, all designed to to help you improve.

We warmly welcome newcomers to our club, and encourage new runners, who we understand may not feel very confident. We also make every effort to support runners who may be coming back to the sport.

NEW: Our 2025 Ladies-Only Beginners Couch to 5k Course starts on 20 May until 8 July. Find out more here >
