June Notices

Howdy Ranelights.

June is here…

.. and attention now turns to one of the main fixtures in our race calender, the Ranelagh 10K on Sunday 21 June.

Whether you’re racing, supporting or volunteering, we’d love to see the club out in force. You can enter @ https://in.njuko.com/ranelagh-10k or volunteer @ https://forms.gle/DodAoSXJtZFngnm89. Or better yet, do both!

Alongside the 10K, there’s another busy month ahead with the Stragglers Mini Mob Match at Old Deer Park parkrun, Dorking 10s and the ever-popular Nonsuch 3K Relays all coming up over the next few weeks.

On the social front, don’t forget Robbie’s Fundraiser BBQ after training on Tuesday 9 June, all proceeds in support of his aim to raise £10,000 for Ruils SEND Support Services by taking on the South Downs Way 100. Please sign up via the Google Form so we can plan catering numbers.

A reminder to also save the date for this year’s AGM on 7 July. Further details below.

Sunday 10 May | Ranelagh Half

From record-breaking performances and team victories to PBs, first-time half marathon finishes and an army of volunteers making it all happen, the 2026 Ranelagh Half was another unforgettable day for the club and wider running community. With 393 runners on the start line, a smashed Open course record and Ranelagh's women claiming team honours, the event showcased everything that makes the race so special: outstanding running, brilliant organisation and the warmth of the Ranelagh spirit.

Saturday 16 - Sunday 17 May | Green Belt Relay

Four teams. Forty-four runners. Countless miles, minibus journeys and memories. The 2026 Green Belt Relay saw Ranelagh once again at the sharp end of one of the club’s most iconic weekends, with the Roses winning both the Women’s Plate and Queens of the Mountains, the Super-Vs claiming the Old Timers trophy and an outstanding fifth place overall, and the Rapids finishing first Open Men’s team after a thrilling battle for the overall title. More than the trophies, it was another weekend that showcased everything that makes the Green Belt Relay special: teamwork, camaraderie, resilience and the incredible spirit of the club.

Tuesday 26 May | Coad Cup Handicap

On the hottest May day of the year, the historic Coad Cup returned with another memorable evening of racing in Richmond Park. Robbie’s BBQ Fundraiser

Anyone involved with Ranelagh will know just how much the Hillhouse family gives to this club. From supporting events and volunteering their time, to serving on the committee and helping keep the clubhouse running, Robbie, Michele and Gavin are always there when Ranelagh needs them.

Now it’s our turn to support them.

On 13 June, Robbie will take on the South Downs Way 100; a relentless 100-mile non-stop race from Winchester to Eastbourne, to raise £10,000 for Ruils Independent Living and their SEND Family Matters service.

Please join us at the clubhouse from 8:15pm, after training on Tuesday 9 June for Robbie’s BBQ Fundraiser. Help us get behind an incredible challenge for a brilliant cause. Let’s pack out the clubhouse and help him raise as much as we can.

Cost is £10 per person, which includes a burger (with or without cheese), plus salad and sauces. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options will all be available, with drinks available for a donation. Simply fill in this Google Form and come along >

If you’re unable to make the social, we would hugely appreciate any donations made to Robbie’s JustGiving page >

Ranelagh School Run

School Run is our outreach initiative, launched in 2023 to introduce and inspire under-11s to cross-country running. Delivered in partnership with Burdett-Coutts Primary School in Westminster, the programme has already had a huge impact, helping children build confidence, discover running and, for many, experience Richmond Park for the very first time.

Now in its third year, demand has grown significantly, with 57 children signed up for 2026, almost double previous years. It’s a hugely positive sign, but to help deliver a safe and high-quality final event, we’d love more club members to get involved.

Voluntering: To support Wednesday after-school sessions (10, 17 or 24th May from 3.45 - 4.30pm). Having club members involved helps build confidence, familiarity and a real sense of connection ahead of race day.

Race Day: Wednesday 8 July from 12–3pm. Help with course set-up, marshalling, pacing and finish support. No experience is needed, just a willingness to get involved and help make it a brilliant experience for the children. DBS not required.

If you’d like to be involved, please email coordinator@ranelagh-harriers.co.uk or contact Narissa via WhatsApp Community.

Clubhouse Plans

In April we shared the latest clubhouse plans as part of our ambition to shape the future of our club facilities. You can learn more about the context of this, what was shared and discussed by watching this video from Rick Jenner here>

And you can also find the current proposals (PDF) here >

More importantly, we want to know what you think - so please take a few minutes to complete this Google Form @ https://forms.gle/Aqrq7gJbsigHHBY26

Your feedback and thoughts genuinely matter, and this is an important opportunity for you to help shape the next chapter of the clubhouse.

We’d like to encourage all responses by the end of this week so that an update can be shared ahead of next month’s AGM.

Notice: Annual General Meeting

The Ranelagh Harriers Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 7 July 2026 from 7.30pm at the Clubhouse. This will be to review the year prior and to vote in elected officials.

Kindly note that training will start earlier than usual @ 6.30pm to allow time for all to attend. Refreshments will be provided.

Please contact ranelagh.hon.secretary@gmail.com by 9 June if you have any proposed changes to the constitution or items to add to the agenda.

The final agenda and other documents will be circulated by 23 June.

Stragglers (mini) Mob Match

Saturday 13 June @ 9am | Old Deer Park parkrun

Our annual (mini) Mob Match against The Stragglers Running Club will take place in conjunction with Old Deer Park parkrun. As with all mob matches, it’s all about numbers so COME ON RANELAGH!

For it to count, you’ll need to register with parkrun that you are a member of our club. To do this, sign into your parkrun profile, click on Groups and add Ranelagh Harriers as your club.

If you have more than one club, please make Ranelagh your primary club for it to count.

Then turn up at Old Deer Park parkrun on 13 June at 9am and RUN!

With the warmer weather, please remember to hydrate well, take it steady when needed, dress appropriately, and keep cool, not just during training but also when travelling to and from the clubhouse or track.
