CIO Update
Thank you to everyone who came to the AGM and joined the discussion on our proposed transition to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, or CIO.
So we can continue these important discussions, these are the next steps:
We will hold a Zoom call on Monday 3 August at 7pm. This will be an opportunity for members to ask questions of the Executive Committee and CIO working group. The Zoom link will be circulated closer to the time via WhatsApp.
We will then hold a Special General Meeting on Tuesday 1 September at 7pm at the clubhouse. This will give members a further opportunity to ask questions before voting on whether to progress our application to the Charity Commission as the next step in the proposed transition to a CIO.
If members vote to continue with the CIO process, a further SGM will be arranged at a later date. At that meeting, members would be asked to vote separately on the closure of the CASC and the transfer of assets to the new CIO.
For anyone who would like to revisit the background, the original AGM notice and supporting information can be found here: AGM 2026 update.
We are also preparing a dedicated webpage bringing together all the relevant materials, including updated FAQs based on member questions and feedback. We expect to share this very soon.
We would really encourage as many members as possible to attend both the Zoom call and the SGM. This is an important moment for the club, and we want members to feel informed, able to ask questions and confident in having their say.
Your voice matters, and we hope to see as many of you as possible involved in the next stage of the discussion.
If you have any questions or would like to reach out to the Executive Committee, please email coordinator@ranelagh-harriers.co.uk >
