Mob vs Blackheath Harriers
Ranelagh… assemble!!
Last job for the MOB, this time to far flung Hayes to take on the mighty Heathens in the 104th running of this match, and keep the Pelling-Ratcliff Cup home, where it belongs.
More than that, we stand on the cusp of taking the first steps towards replicating that astonishing run of Ranelagh winning 15 mob matches in a row, over 3 straight seasons starting from 2014-2015.
We have it all - new kit, go-faster stripes and a fab new website - let’s get out there, for a ‘good run in the country side‘, to support our club and chant our Club Cry:
Hobble Gobble
Razzle Dazzle
Zis Boom Bah
Ranelagh Ranelagh
Rah Rah Rah.

Here’s a few words of inspiration from our Men’s captain, james riley..
💙💛 Ranelagh, We Need You! 💙💛
For the first time in seven years, we have a chance at a mob match clean sweep - but only if we turn out in force for the showdown with Blackheath at Norman Park next Saturday 22nd March at 2:30pm.
We all know what mob matches are about. It’s not just about speed. It’s not just about who’s at the front. It’s about sheer numbers. Every single runner counts. Whether you’re flying at the front, grinding it out in the middle, or just here for the tea and biscuits, your run matters. Your place counts. You could be the difference between glory and heartbreak.
We need you. Your clubmates need you. The spirit of the mob needs you.
And in case you’re wondering how serious this is - I’m overturning my self-imposed ban on racing in East London for this. That’s right, I’m braving the land of Blackheath’s finest cross-country purists - a place where mud is a badge of honour, club tradition is very serious business, and the biggest weekly competition is the scramble for a table at Gail’s on a Saturday morning.
Sounds a bit like Richmond? Maybe. But for one day only, we’re setting aside our own artisanal bakery loyalties to take on the old guard on their home turf. And this time, we’re not just showing up - we’re showing up in style. Let’s run proud in our brilliant new kit—bold, blue, and unmistakably Ranelagh.
Ranelagh vs. Blackheath. Be there. Be counted. 💪🏻
If you weren’t inspired before, you definitely should be now. Let’s continue our winning mob streak and make it FOUR in a row. Dust off your spikes, lace up your trails, don your vests and have the mud-scrubbing brush ready for after. Don’t miss out on your chance to be part of the team that take us one step closer to mob-match clean sweep glory!
