Clutton Cup Handicap
First competed for in 1883, the Clutton Cup is a 16km/10mile handicap* cross-country race open to all members. This handsome trophy was presented in 1881, the year of the club’s foundation, by Mr J H Clutton, the club’s first true President. Medals will also be awarded to the 2nd & 3rd place finishers, as well as the three fastest men and the three fastest women.
* HOW DOES A HANDICAP WORK? Runners are awarded individual start times based on recent performances. The one with the most generous handicap will start first, with subsequent runners starting after at their allotted time. If done accurately, everyone should finish the race at roughly the same time. To ensure fairness, you must have run a minimum of 3 club events to be awarded a handicap, otherwise you will compete as a guest.
Entry is FREE but you must fill in this form @ https://bit.ly/clutton2025 ⬅️ by 23:59 on Wednesday 5 March to allow the club handicapper time to do their job.
Kindly note that no on-the-day entries are permitted.
