Mob Vs The Stragglers RC

Ranelagh… assemble!!

Fresh from our resounding victory at Wimbledon Common against our ‘old’ rivals Thames Hare & Hounds (race report to follow soon); it’s time for another job for our Ranelagh mob. This time on home ground in Richmond Park, in our inaugural fixture against our ‘new’ opponents, The Stragglers RC.

We’re trialling a new twist on an old tradition..

same route, same distance but the difference here is that EVERYONE (runners AND volunteers) gets the chance to score; to make the word ‘MOB’ really mean something.

As with a traditional mob, everyone can take part – both the young* and young at heart. To acknowledge everyone’s contributions, we’re allocating 1 point per volunteer (for designated, pre-assigned roles) and 1 point per runner starting. However, so as to reward performance, there will be additional points for those completing the full 2 laps.

So if a hard race doesn’t fit in with your training plans, or if you want to just run one lap (3.75 miles/6-ish km), don’t worry, you can still score for our club! This is an ideal event for those wanting to participate in a mob match without the pressure.

Plus tea is FREE for everyone!

So dust off your spikes, lace up your trails, don your vests and have the mud-scrubbing brush ready for after. It’s time once again for us to come together for a ‘good run in the country side‘, in support of our club and for another chance to chant our Club Cry:

Hobble Gobble
Razzle Dazzle
Zis Boom Bah
Ranelagh Ranelagh
Rah Rah Rah.
