Volunteering Opportunities πŸ’™πŸ’›

Howdy Ranelights,

As our 143rd season kicks off with the Thomas Cup this Saturday, a kindly reminder that the success of any event, big or small, hinges primarily on the support of the volunteers who help out and marshal.

We’ve all benefited from their dedication: from that much needed shout-out as you’re wondering why the heck you entered this darn race; to the comfort of running a course that’s been checked out to ensure it’s safe; to the assurance that all you need to do is RUN your heart out, and everything else will be taken care of.

So, what better way to show your deepest appreciation than to consider volunteering for these upcoming fixtures & events? It’s bags of fun, you get to meet other people, learn new skills and be part of a great event. So please get in touch if you can help out – we really need you!

πŸ’™ Saturday 2 Sept : Thomas Cup Handicap
Entries are now closed but we still need a bit of help from 1pm to 3pm. Duties are very light – mainly smiling & cheering! If you’re free at all this Saturday, please email narissa.vox@gmail.com ASAP.

πŸ’› Sunday 10 September : Richmond Run-Fest 2023
A call to arms from our friends at Richmond Run-Fest, who really need as many volunteers to marshal (at various locations convenient to you) their event next Sunday. They’ve been very supportive of our own races, so this is a great chance for us to give something back. Even better, they’re offering a free entry into future races as a thank-you! I mean, how good a deal is THAT?

If you can help, please head to https://run-fest.com/get-involved/volunteer-us/ πŸ‘ˆ ASAP.

πŸ’™ Saturday 30 Sept : Page Cup Handicap
Entries are open for the Page Cup but if you’re not planning to run, please consider volunteering. Again, duties are very light and you’ll be needed from approx. 2.30pm for a couple of hours. Please email narissa.vox@gmail.com to sign up.

πŸ’› SAVE THE DATE 14 October : Surrey League #1
Permissions & licences are in process but if it all goes to plan, we will need every single able-bodied Ranelagh Harrier to help out. So please save the date in your diaries, even if you can only commit to part of the day. There’s a whole raft of duties but training (if required) will be given.

Come everyone, let’s get a-volunteering! What are you waiting for?! Get in touch NOW! πŸ₯°
