4 November Mob Match: Ranelagh Harriers vs THH

Howdy Ranelights,

Following the excitement of last week’s Surrey League, a kind reminder of an upcoming opportunity to channel the collective Ranelagh Harriers cross-country power at our mob match against Thames Hare & Hounds!

We need ALL HANDS ON DECK on Saturday 4th November as Thames travel all the way (across the A3) to our hunting grounds in Richmond Park.

It’s a chance for everyone to participate in a running rivalry that dates back to the early 20th century, when THH ‘established its most enduring fixture against Ranelagh (later to evolve into the Mob Match in 1973/74)‘.

And from the first mob match v Thames in November 1974, the tally so far is 21 Ranelagh wins against 27 Thames wins.

Everyone is encouraged to take part – the more starters we have, the better our chance of victory. If a hard race doesn’t fit in with your training plans, just take it as a training run – it’s the number of bodies on the starting line that’s the important thing.

There is always a convivial and entertaining supper after so COME ON RANELAGH – let’s come together for another ‘good run in the country side’, in support of our club and for a chance to chant the Club Cry:

Hobble Gobble
Razzle Dazzle
Zis Boom Bah
Ranelagh Ranelagh
Rah Rah Rah.

๐Ÿ“ข ENTRY:
๐Ÿ”ท Registration & numbers is at 1pm at the clubhouse.

๐Ÿ“ข VOLUNTEERS:
If you’re not able to run, you can still support our club by volunteering to marshal. The success of all our club events, big or small, hinges primarily on the support of volunteers and marshals. We’ve all benefited from the dedication of event marshals & coordinators, so please consider giving back a teeny bit by volunteering.

Please get in touch if you can help out – we really need you!
