Ranelagh Strava Rundown Week 129

Dave Bedford famously ran the first London Marathon after a night on the beers so there was really no excuse for anyone to not be out there today after what was an excellent Christmas party at the Anglers last night! Happy Christmas to all and thank you to Rebecca and Hadi for putting on a fabulous do!

The Highlights of the week:

🔷 Nick Impey stormed round the Telford 10k in an astonishing 31.40 which was a PB, and vowing to do more of that – imagine if he actually got good at 10ks!

🔶 A bit of XC is always a good hangover cure, and Steph Tindall, Nick Twomey and John Tovell indulged in exactly that in Reading this morning. Steph came second in 34:48, Nick ran 31:08 and John 44:24.

🔷 Meanwhile Stephen and Carol Aikin decided Wimbledon common would be the ideal place to run off their over indulgences at the THH Second Sunday 5. Although judging by their descriptions perhaps the Christmas party was still making itself felt!

🔶 Jarryd Hillhouse did run a marathon the morning after the Christmas party, but given that it was in Malaga I guess we can excuse him for not actually being there. It was his second marathon in 2 weekends, and he ran 3:36. Great run!

🔷 A hilly half marathon was just the tonic for Shaun Griffith who ran the Crystal Palace half this morning in 1:36, meanwhile, down under, Al Whatwough smashed the Melbourne Half in 1:16.

🔶 Jackson’s Strava art might become a regular feature, as it continued this week with “Toothbrush on the end of a meat-cleaver” very Jackson Pollock, and “Worm”. Yes, even an out-and-back run can be art!

🔷 The Ranelagh Festive Challenge continues – and there’s still time to get involved, find out more here: and get your festive thinking caps and running shoes on!
