This week we have a guest slot and a souvenir holiday edition! Live from a running holiday in Ireland, Hadi Khatamizadeh, has taken time out to let us know what he’s been up to and to have a quick summary of what all the rest of you have been doing this week whilst racking up 6,604km from 737 activities. Many thanks for jumping in Hadi 😊. If any of the rest of you want to have a go at writing the rundown some time, please drop an email to email@example.com.
🔷 Many runners used the advantage of being on holiday and ran new routes. (Sergio, Fiona Jones, Claire and Jeremy Day, James Riley and Sally Minchella, Nicola Douglas , Ellie and Dave Lawley, Narissa, Alberto Esquevillas and few more whom we might have missed.
🔶 One of the holidaymakers was Sally Minchella who ran just over 50 kilometres in a very dry edition of South Coast… we hope you enjoy your holiday Sally with James who ran 33 kilometres the next day.
🔷 Eirin tested his hamstring and picked up his first run in 3 weeks, poor Eirin didn’t feel the same on Saturday’s parkrun and had to yield and walk a quarter of the run.
🔶 Ed Perry ended up in a wrong valley whilst Marianne Malam gave herself a blister on her longest run in a while … come on Marianne we all remember your marathon in lockdown..
🔷 Kris Davidson and Grace cut short their long run in Brecon Beacons National Park when they couldn’t light a fire.. we think running 30k made it difficult to light the camp fire. Don’t forget Kris ran 100 miles just last week.
🔶 Suzy was thinking of falafel and enjoyed the squished one before picking up a crown on her next run.
🔷 Saturday morning saw many of Ranelagh complete parkruns around the country. Pat Wright and Ross Mac finished first and second respectively in Mole Valley Parkrun. Michael Morris finished 5th, with Clare Fowler and Suzy first and second women in Old Deer parkrun, and Hadi finished 4th in Derry City parkrun.
🔶 Alex Ring also found Woolacomb parkrun the toughest parkrun . Keeley Phillips had precisely the same opinion for newly opened Lanhydrock parkrun.
🔷 Parkrun didn’t start well for Mark Herbert who fell but managed to earn an overall pb in Fulham parkrun. Well done Herbie 👏 Hadi also got his 5k pb in a longer than usual parkrun in Derry City (5.3 k).
🔶 Sunday saw Sarah Palmer run amazingly in Wimbledon 5k in a time of 18:41. Great run Sarah.
🔷In the same part of London, Ann Kearey, Carol and Stephen Aikin and Michael Morris had a fun day in Dash for the Splash 10k.
☘️ In Ireland, Aoife Kilpatrick, Rebecca Bissell, Annie Duncan, Gavin Hillhouse and Hadi completed their virtual Quadrathon in the Innishowen Peninsula in County Donegal. they did 4 half Marathons in 4 days . The pictures prove they really had a fun time . It comes as no surprise that all 3 ladies topped the leader order this week.
